Exciting news! The team at Tara West Fashion is re-vamping our online style while we're away on vacation to continue to bring you the best of fashion from the beautiful surrounds of our home in Boston to the streets of New York, LA, London, and Miami. We look forward to seeing you this spring with our fresh looks.
For now, I want to send you off on your travels with some of my favorite packing tips to make your spring vacation the fantastic getaway you deserve.
April Showers are a real thing. Don't forget some extra-cute raingear. Save the black umbrella for your workweek and treat yourself to a new one with a pop of color. Or, skip the brolly, bring a rain hat!
Is your trip a walking trip? The right sneakers will look chic and get you through miles of museums, cobble-stoned street shopping, and aisles of farmer's markets.
But bring some dress shoes too. The nice thing about heels is they are lightweight and fit easily in the suitcase between your clothes. So, why not bring two pairs?
Tired of lugging around a heavy bag? You're in luck, because fanny packs are back! I've seen them in soft buttery leathers and rich hues. Wear them slung over your shoulder– the latest trend– or of course, around your "fanny."
Bring your comfiest PJ's, a sleep mask, and noise cancelling headphones. A good night's sleep is essential to a busy day of sightseeing.
Wear makeup that is easy and looks natural. The basics of some powder or foundation, a little blush, a swipe of mascara, and a pretty, neutral lip gloss will keep you looking fresh and not over-done. Remember to take care of your skin at night too. I love my PCA Skin Purifying Mask and Smoothing Toner. It helps my face fight the rigors of travel in changing conditions.
Last but not least, stuff it all into the perfect suitcase by CALPAK. (Um, fold nicely, I mean.) CALPAK luggage is my go-to for style and durability. CALPAK comes in an assortment of beautiful colors, sizes, materials, in sets or singles. Check out the fun patterns of their brand new line, Oh Joy! by designer Joy Cho. You will never lose sight of your precious cargo in baggage claim ever again!
