Where to Eat, What to Wear

Here in Boston, there are so many interesting and diverse restaurants to try it may seem overwhelming to pick just one. This week, we collaborated with the team at Columbus Hospitality Group who manage Boston restaurants Ostra and Mistral. We’ll show you what to eat and what to wear when visiting these popular restaurants where you'll be sure to have a good time.

Ostra Restaurant can be found at 1 Charles Street South in the Back Bay. This contemporary Mediterranean restaurant features an extensive seafood menu created by Chef and Owner Jamie Mammano and Executive Chef Mitchell Randall. We recommend trying the pan roasted halibut with garlic and potato puree, little neck clams and tiny tomatoes or the ricotta gnocchetti with lobster, mushrooms and shaved truffles. If you’re feeling decadent, Ostra also has several caviar selections available daily.

Ostra's Private Dining Room

Ostra's Private Dining Room

Ostra’s main dining room accommodates 150 guests at a time, and reservations are strongly recommended. The private room at Ostra is also available for private events in an intimate setting. To Ostra, we suggest wearing something chic and fun. Try something like these Barbara Bui white pants and Frame striped tank. Tara completes her outfit with a Gucci clutch, Kate Spade sunglasses and Prada heels.

Mistral Restaurant can be found at 223 Columbus Avenue in the South End. The elegant French interior here makes us feel like we’re dining in Provence. We recommend starting your night off with Chef Jamie’s steamed black mussels with smoked tomato mariniere, but also try the peppercorn crusted prime sirloin, pommes de terre Lyonnaise and vincotto.

Mistral Private Dining- Le Salon du Mistral

Mistral also offers a private dining room named Le Salon du Mistral. This sophisticated setting is perfect for your intimate gatherings. To Mistral, we suggest wearing a dress like this one by ALC. Tara pairs it with a black blazer from Portobello Road and a Chanel clutch. It’s a perfect outfit to wear if you decide to walk around the South End after dinner.
