Workout with Zane

This week we teamed up with personal trainer Zane Alcantara from Healthworks Fitness Club in Coolidge Corner for some new workout moves in some new workout gear. First, we visited our local Athleta store in Chestnut Hill for a new outfit. We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality, colorful and diverse selection of workout gear they offered there. We chose the High Neck Rib Tank in grey heather, the Full Focus Bra in fabulous fuchsia, and the Dobby Be Free Knicker in electric fuchsia.
Next door at True Runner Chestnut Hill, we picked up a new pair of New Balance running sneakers called the NB Team Elite 1500v2. These are a mostly white shoe with an awesome orange and fuchsia bottom which completed our outfit.
Once at Healthworks, Zane got us started off with a full scapula and trunk warmup, which included reaching up high to get our arms loosened up, hanging from a pull-up bar to get our shoulders warm and lifting our knees up to get our blood pumping.
Our first set of moves included assisted full release pushups (shown below) and hinge band pullovers.
Next, we did knee banded squat rows and half knee top down rope twists (shown below).
Lastly, we ended our session with kneeling banded hip thrusts and rope slams (shown below).
Our Athleta gear was comfortable and cool throughout the entire workout and our New Balance sneakers fit well even without having had time to break them in. Special thanks to Healthworks Coolidge Corner for hosting us this week!
