Tara's December Finds
I don’t know about you, but in my household I’m doing a lot of saying “no” to my kids on things like social gatherings and travel. This month, I wanted to focus on some things that I (and hopefully you) can feel good about saying “yes” to. Before I get to my December Finds, I wanted to highlight an innovative new local Boston (but online too) boutique called Twenty20. Founded by two moms who needed shopping to be easier, @twenty20boutique offers a new way to shop - while perusing their profile on Instagram. According to founders Gia and Meg, “Twenty20 makes finding the latest trends for your wardrobe fast, simple and fun! You simply comment “sold" on any item you would like to purchase on Instagram and we take care of the rest. No online forms to fill out and your purchase ships the next day!”
Stay cozy while feeling put together with items from Boston’s own Twenty20 Boutique including this luscious plaid scarf (pictured below), this super soft open shoulder dress (how cute with booties or high boots as shown above), and these sexy lacy leggings (even wear them with an oversized sweatshirt). Loved pairing it with this splurge-worthy MCM bag.
Tara’s December Finds:
What I’m Supporting: TL, DFS, GBFB
TEEN LINE - Teens Helping Teens - near and dear to my heart as I volunteered here as a teen, having struggled with a tough childhood and teen home life. “TL is a non-profit, community based organization that provides emotional support to youth. It is our mission to provide peer based education and support before problems become a crisis, using a national hotline, community outreach and online support.”
Dress for Success - I have always been about helping people feel confident in what they are wearing and I know first hand how important it is for women to have the tools, network and resources they need to succeed -- now more than ever. “The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.”
The Greater Boston Food Bank and Feeding America - it’s easy to get lost in the constant stream of recipes and gorgeous looking cheese platters at this time of year, and to forget that “one in 8 people (658,920) in Eastern Massachusetts is expected to experience food insecurity in 2020 as a result of the impact of COVID-19” - according to Feeding America and the GBFB.
What I’m Wearing: Feel Good and Fun Fashion and Beauty
United by LOLA - a gorgeous line of pendants that celebrate those who serve our country and care for our people. Perfect gifts for loved ones to recognize their sacrifices.
Some of our team’s tween and teen daughters have been all over Ivory Ella for their TikTok-worthy sweatshirts, and the fact that they “donate 10% of net profits to Save the Elephants and other charitable causes.”
FEED bags! Founded by Lauren Bush, we love the fact that with every product they sell they provide vulnerable communities around the world with school meals. For 2021 we are eyeing their crossbody bags and many of the celebrity picks (Martha’s bag is amazing).
New makeup from Rachel Lockhart of Rachel’s Makeup Studio - check out the lipstick in action here and Rachel in action here.
Several items (love the variety!) including this luscious plaid scarf, this super soft open shoulder dress (how cute with booties or high boots as shown), and these sexy lacy leggings (even wear them with an oversized sweatshirt), from Boston local Twenty20 Boutique. Loved pairing it with this splurge-worthy MCM bag!
Recognize first responders in your life by wearing or giving United by LOLA - a gorgeous line of pendants that celebrate those who serve our country and care for our people. Perfect gifts for loved ones to recognize their sacrifices. Also pictured above are a few of LOLA’s rings.
What’s Happening in my Kitchen: Comfort and Warmth
My family loves cinnamon rolls but I am just not enough of an advance planner to get them prepped the night before. I finally found a recipe for easy cinnamon rolls that are ready in just 45 mins - perfect if you happen to get up before the fam and want to surprise them.
My slow cooker is one happy appliance as it’s been getting a lot of mileage in 2020. This recipe for meatballs is so easy and you’d be surprised how much more flavorful and juicy they turn out after slow cooking.
Light but warm lunches! I often find myself staring at the inside of my fridge around 11:58am wondering what I am going to scrounge together for lunch on my own. One of my go to’s (sometimes with an egg or some greek yogurt on top) is this delicious roasted cauliflower recipe - oh but it’s not just roasted cauliflower - it’s like cauliflower that got all dressed up in a ball gown and showed up on your plate in a limo.
What’s Keeping Me Entertained: Dad Dance Moves
We all know a dad with signature dance moves, right? Well, check out @dadsgotmoves on Insta cause this dad takes the cake!
If you are a mom of teens / tweens and you have not been made aware of @catandnat, you have some major catching up to do.
You might think I live under a rock if I didn’t mention the seriously enthralling shows I’ve been watching, namely: The Undoing (how about that fashion???), The Queen’s Gambit, and The Crown - extra credit: I loved learning how Emma Corrin transformed into Lady Di in this video.
