Holiday Styling Session

What Are We Wearing?

The holidays are in full swing, and this year I am styling looks for my clients that are black-tie-forward with a touch of sexy and lots of elegance. Think full A-line skirts, feathers, sequins, and lace details!

Sequins are having a big moment right now. I love this Trina Turk skirt paired with a white silk top or cropped blazer for the cooler weather and sexy black tights - this ensemble is striking yet elegant. Add a black patent leather pump or spike-heeled bootie to seal the deal.

Another fabulous set is the sequin ombre two-piece by Trina Turk for the ultimate holiday vibe. The open back adds a hint of skin, while the wide-leg pant and bell sleeve give this elevated fit lots of drama.

Feather details are a fun trend for the party season; style a feather-trimmed top with a sleek, black tuxedo pant or pencil skirt to balance the look. For an all-black outfit, I adore the Valentino Garavani Stud clutch in ivory to soften the look.

I chose a lace applique dress by Marchesa with a sheer hem and fitted bodice for a black-tie event I have coming up. This dress is an updated take on a classic silhouette, and the fit is incredibly flattering and comfortable. With the details of this dress taking center stage, Iā€™d skip hosiery and opt for a strappy sandal with a bold red pedicure and a small slouch purse with some texture like this beauty from Mansur Gavriel.

My friends at Sachin & Babi are among the best in evening-wear design and craftsmanship. Their collection of dresses and a-line ballroom-style skirts with coordinating cropped tops are stunning for the season. I fell in love with the Tartan plaid as soon as I tried it on! The voluminous Ava skirt paired with a bustier style top or crisp white button-down shirt is a sophisticated take and a timeless look.
