Fresh Looks For 2023
We are coming off a busy social calendar from the holidays, so it's time to put the feathers and sequins away... for now. While working with clients and preparing for upcoming fashion events like NYFW, I am looking for unique pieces that achieve the sense of style and elegance that I like to carry throughout the year. Here are a few pieces I am loving for these transitional months.
Bold Yet Cozy
I have a few pairs of the Roberston Crop Pant by Derek Lam, and I love them. I decided to break out this cherry red color - post-holiday - to add some energy to these cold winter months. Layering an oversized sweater with these fitted pants is a fabulous way to balance the look. I opted for an unexpected shade of purple in this BA&SH half-zip sweater and brown YSL booties. Mixing bold colors with a neutral shoe is an easy and fun way to incorporate more brightness into your wardrobe without going too far. The sweater is still very cozy, while the pants provide structure and a flattering fit with a bit of shine in the gold sailor-style buttons.
Tonal And Soft Layers
A few trends you may have heard me talk about for 2023 are a stunning white blazer and sheer detailed pieces. I went with a layered look here in Free People loose-style trousers with a cream sweater and lace underpinning on top and finished with one of my favorite blazers by Smythe. A monochromatic look is always elegant and chic in the most understated way. I completed my ensemble with a YSL belt and matching booties for a slightly more casual look.
Clean And Crisp
I transitioned the sweater and lace underpinning top from my suit to another take on the white-hot blazer trend by adding a pair of light-wash Derek Lam denim. I love this look for formal daytime events and parties because the denim keeps you cool and comfortable, but the white blazer takes your look to another level. This blazer is Alexander McQueen and falls higher on the body, which is an excellent pick to wear with slim-fit denim, trousers, or pencil skirts.
