Ideas For Holiday Looks
Getting dressed for the festive holiday is one of my favorite times of the year! I love to get dressed up; that is no secret. But finding new ideas and ways to express yourself with the trends is all part of the fun. Taking a risk or trying a new look is a great way to build confidence and add some zest to your personal style. Here are gorgeous pieces I am reaching for this holiday season.
Sexy Separates
If you want to level up your look for the holidays, here are some sexy tips. Go with a sheer or mesh piece or bodysuit like this one by Spanx to take your outfit to evening-appropriate in a flash. Style a chic blazer or cozy jacket like this faux fur to buffer the look. I am wearing my favorite SPRWM leather culottes for a flowy feel while still feeling extra luxe for the season, and my new Mach and Mach pumps for sparkle. Wear this look or your own interpretation for an extravagant night out or a festive cocktail party. This ensemble makes a bold statement; separate the elements you like and wear them individually if you want a more subtle approach to this look.
Winter White
Fun Fact: I love to mix and match suiting pieces. I have worn both this Alexander McQueen blazer and the Smythe trousers more times than I can count throughout the year. Creamy white is a beautiful and unexpected color to wear for the holidays. Ivory and off-white feel bright and elegant, especially when worn with a fun texture like sequins, fur, cozy knits, or satin. If you want to skip the dress or skirt this year, mix up your suiting separates to add some dimension, like black pants with a cream blazer. Add a fresh blowout, a rich red manicure, and a bold-colored shoe to make your look pop.
Spicy Suiting
I love anything by the Canadian brand Smythe for a full-on suit look. The quality of the clothing, exceptional design, and tailoring make the fit so flattering and chic - you feel potent and powerful when you put on one of their suits or coats. I styled this classic charcoal silhouette with a shiny sequin tank from my friends at Free People. This look would be beautiful for a daytime or work event during the holiday season. This is modern but with the fitted long blazer and flared trouser leg. This shape elongates your legs and adds structure to the shoulder line for a formal and sophisticated look. Add your favorite jewelry or a belt with metallic accents to pull the look together, and finish with the highest pair of heels you have!
