Springtime Sweaters

What Are We Wearing?

I've been sharing a lot of transitional pieces for Spring, and this week I wanted to bring you some cozy and comfy sweater options. Sweaters are a year-round staple, especially in Boston. Now is the time to invest in some medium to lighter-weight sweater separates to carry you out of the cold, wintery months and into the bright, breezy days of Spring.

Lightweight Crewnecks
The next season's sweaters are designed with much lighter weights that make them climate appropriate, but these knits will still work great for those cooler Summer nights. I love to style a striped, nautical-inspired mock-neck sweater with linen pants or denim. It's a classic that never goes out of style and is flattering on everyone. Other trending sweater options include cut-out details, see-through mesh and open crotchet knits, sweater vests, and lots of space-dye prints. Each trend has its own stand-out quality, so opt for a neutral bottom like a denim maxi skirt, tailored shorts, or khaki trousers to complete your look.

Shrunken Cardigans
I love a chic little cardi - it's a fun and sexy add-on for sleeveless dresses. A more casual take would be with a tee, silk cami, or a more risqué minimalistic bralette. Opt for looser-fitting cargo pants or wide-leg jeans and heels to balance this silhouette.

Jacket-Inspried Cardigans
The long cardigan or duster has come a long way over the years. These sweater styles now work as blazers and even jackets, giving the finishing touch to your best outfits. Many versions out now feature structured shoulders, luxe button details, and even more premium fabrics that drape beautifully - similar to some of your favorite high-end blazers but with the texture and coziness of a great sweater. Style it for work with a pencil skirt or tailored trousers and on the weekends with jeans or shorts and a simple tee.
