My Beach Getaway Must Have's

I spent the New Year celebrating with my family in Nosara, Costa Rica. The warm sun and white sand were the perfect escape from the cold Boston temps and post-holiday bustle. This week, I am sharing how I packed myself (my clients). The key is to plan your looks and bring versatile pieces that are easy to style.

Separates

Johanna Ortiz is one of my go-to brands when shopping for warm-weather vacations. The prints are not overpowering but still offer some vibrance and fun. The cut is flattering and modern without being too revealing or too conservative. This skirt is the perfect day-to-night piece for a poolside look, as shown here with my A.L.C. bikini, which you can take to dinner with a tank top, chunky jewelry, and a high wedge sandal.

Cover Ups

The crochet trend is going strong, so expect to keep it in rotation this Summer. This body-hugging crochet dress is from Beachriot, an excellent brand for all things "vacation." This is the perfect and versatile coverup for a poolside drink or lunch at the beach. I like to match this dress to my swimwear tones to complement the crochet pattern.

Dresses

Another beautiful choice from Johanna Ortiz. This strapless dress is giving Hawaiian island vibes! The fabric is exceptionally soft and lightweight and holds up well for those extra hot days when you want comfort with style. This beauty can also be worn as a coverup, but I suggest keeping it for a special dinner on the beach or a casual party.

Proenza Schouler is known for elegance, easy-to-wear pieces, and of course - quality. This strapless knockout is one of my favorites! It is a terry cloth fabric with the cut of a formal dress, and it is the perfect choice wherever your day takes you. I like to throw it on after a long day in the sun when I want to be in a comfortable, effortless, chic, and elevated look. Style it with a strappy heel, espadrille, or chunky sandal like this Prada fisherman-style sandal.

Swimwear

Investing in quality classics makes packing and getting ready much easier because there isn't much time wasted on decisions when you bring a mainstay style. This Vic two-piece swimsuit is an oldie but a goodie, and I wear it on every trip I go on because I feel great in it. A classic, good-quality bikini or one-piece will keep up with you on your trips while never looking dated.
