Cropped Blazers

What Are We Wearing?

Blazers are the perfect go-to for completing a look that might be missing something. I love to style blazers as separates, reaching beyond suits and workwear. The cropped blazer trend is on fire this season; the cropped version adds structure to your look and accentuates your shape. Adding a cropped blazer to a casual or dressy look creates proportions, balancing your ensemble, such as a long pant, a short jacket, and a high heel or platform shoe.

Textures

Tweed, thick knits, and boucle textures look gorgeous on a blazer silhouette. They add a chicness level, softening a look while also adding structure. Depending on the color, tweed is great for year-round looks. Opt for neutral tones to keep a textured, cropped blazer in your rotation year-round.

Classic

A clean, cropped blazer is a sleek take on a classic look. You can never have enough blazers in your closet; add some interesting proportions like a cropped blazer with a strong shoulder or peak lapels. Style this sharp piece with a relaxed cargo pant or a maxi skirt for a date night. This blazer is also a great investment for office wear and can be worn all year long with endless options.

Strong Details

Fun prints, bold colors, strong shoulders, and funky buttons are all fabulous details to incorporate into your cropped blazer looks. These jackets make a statement, adding a pop to jeans, a tee, or a blouse with trousers. I like to style these jackets by toning down the other pieces of the ensemble and letting the jacket stand out, or for a more formal take, try to blend an element of the blazer with the bottoms, for example, gold metallic thread details with gold or beige or cream colored silk pant.
