Guest Blog: Food, Fashion and the Farmer's Market

Happy Wednesday Lovelies!

This week we welcome guest blogger Megan Gillespie for part one of her two part write up on food, fashion and a trip to the Farmer's Market.

Food & Fashion

Cooking is as much a form of creativity and personal expression as fashion is of personal style. Clothes and food are not only necessities, but ways in which we intimately communicate who we are and aspire to be. Just as seasons and styles change, so do food trends. But what always stands the test of time are classic pieces and natural ingredients.

As Summer approaches, I can't wait to slip into my Birkenstock 'Gizeh' Thong and hit the farmer's markets to inspire a whole new season of fresh menu items.

My current obsessions are spring garlic, asparagus, arugula, watermelon with mint and black squid ink rice or pasta. I am not a recipe follower (probably since I was never good in math), but I'm not afraid to experiment. Fortunately, my open minded husband and 1 year old son humor me and eat anything.

Come back next Wednesday to see what kind of recipe ideas Megan has come up with!

Speaking of Farmer's Markets, here are some of our picks for what to wear if you decide to travel to one this Summer.  Pictured at the top is a wide brimmed, woven Kate Spade sun hat embroidered with "lovely" across the brim. It will keep you protected from the sun while looking chic and fabulous. Tara pairs it with a lightweight, coral Maje dress and a silver cuff from Portobello Road in Chestnut Hill.  To hold all of your new purchases, consider bringing along a woven tote like this one pictured below. This favorite is by Z&L Europe.
