Trending Trousers
Right now, it's all about a fabulous pair of really good pants. The right cut designed in a beautiful fabric can make your entire look pop and truly accentuate your figure. I wanted to bring you a few styles that stood out throughout my recent shopping trips and styling sessions. The textures and modern cuts are flattering for any body type and offer an elevated fit for all occasions.
Clean Lines and Luxe Wool
These updated Lebone trousers by Veronica Beard are to die for. I saw these posted on social and loved the look, but they certainly delivered when I tried them on. I love a classic, rich-looking trouser - styled the right way, they make a sexy and confident statement. These pants are designed to fit closer to the body and are made out of gorgeous Italian wool. They are cut with a higher rise and a flared leg to elongate your shape. Order a size up in these and style with my favorite Colorado bodysuit by Wolford or a silk blouse and heels.
Elevated Denim Cuts
Wide-leg denim is having a big moment right now, and you all know I am loving it! Pro-tip - style your wide-leg denim with tops or jackets you usually wear with tailored trousers. This will give your outfit an updated take on business casual. Or keep your relaxed weekend look upbeat in a puff sleeve tee or cropped sweatshirt and your new favorite jeans. I am wearing the Mother Tomcat Roller Wide Leg Jean with a lovely Livotte London Diana tee; both are equally comfortable and stylish. Take your regular size in each.
Plaid Prints For Day Or Night
The Holland Utility Flare Pant by Derek Lam is so fun, especially styled with the matching blazer. The warm brown and plaid design gives a 70s vibe to this suit, which we are seeing more and more. Pair this suit with a body suit or fitted cami and chunky platforms. Take the pants offline by styling them separately with a flat, lug sole bootie and a white oversized dress shirt for a cool-girl vibe.
Tweed With An Edge
I love the versatility of a chic pair of culottes like the Smythe in Tobacco Tweed. The textured fabric and high rise styled with a sleeveless top make this look sporty and refined. A fitted sweater will also work to balance the cropped hem and wider leg shape. For shoes, I opted for booties, but you can go with a sock bootie, platform, or your favorite pumps - I recommend a shoe that adds a little height.
