Valentine's Day Outfits
What Are We Wearing?
Valentine’s Day isn’t just for chocolate. This year, I am devouring the luxurious details and romantic designs from a few of my favorite designers.
One Of A Kind Dresses
You can never have too many dresses. No matter what occasion, I can always find a reason to wear a fabulous dress. For Valentine’s Day this year, we have no shortage of gorgeous options. If you’re leaning towards the minimalistic aesthetic we have been seeing over the last couple of years, opt for a simple yet sexy, wrap-style silk dress like this Jonathan Simkhai, or take it a step further in this bright purple number by Retrofete. However, maximalism is the next major trend on the horizon. Few designers are more sophisticated than Oscar De La Renta; you can find the latest collection at Neiman Marcus Boston. These dresses have the ultimate sophistication and style with floral appliques, rich colors, and sheer hints of skin. Finish your V-day dress look with a neutral-toned strappy sandal or pump, add black tights if it’s too chilly for bare legs.
Standout Separates
If you want to wear separates instead of a dress for a special night out, I love a one-shoulder, tunic, or a sexy corset with black trousers or leather leggings. A corset is a more revealing option but throw a blazer over your shoulders if you want to warm up a little. And for a chic date night, a one-shoulder top is another great choice - both pieces work great with jeans too. A tunic is an unexpected way to combine a formal silhouette like a dress while having the comfort and practicality of a pant.
