Statement Pieces For Spring

Styling my clients for Spring means finding unique, special pieces that add new energy and excitement to their closets. Far beyond shopping for events and parties, I’m looking for pieces with fresh colors and flattering cuts that will wear beautifully throughout the season well into Summer.

I am living in lilac this Spring - a gorgeous shade that flatters all skin tones and works beautifully with white, black, and neutral tones like beige and grey. I discovered these unique blazers by Imp Of The Universe and am in love. Each piece of made individually and comes in an array of colors. You can purchase your one-of-a-kind piece directly at Cadeau or have a custom piece made by the designer Giovanna Contrada. These pieces come with expert tailoring and raw and contrasting hem details, making each piece unique and a standout item for your wardrobe. Style a simple tank or a sharp white button-down with your blazer to balance the fit and shape of the jacket. These jackets look great with almost any bottom; I recommend denim, twill, or cargo pants.

I love the cropped cut and pocket details on this Veronica Beard jacket. The tan color and the gold hardware on the buttons give a glam vibe to an otherwise casual look. This jacket works as an incredibly versatile piece this Spring by styling it with dresses, shorts, denim, maxi skirts, and cargo pants. My white jeans by FRAME are a no-brainer. These flairs are a Spring/Summer staple that I keep on rotation throughout the season because they have a formal silhouette and give a super flattering shape to the legs while feeling soft and comfy; these are a no-brainer. Take your regular size in both pieces, and don’t be afraid to add a pop of color, like a bright-colored shoe or bag, and good pair of sunnies to finish your look.

This red gingham plaid dress by Ganni is an excellent investment for Spring that you will get plenty of wears out of. I love the flowy full-length with the cut-outs at the waist; the design feels put together with a touch of sexy. I styled it with a platform Gucci sandal to add height and a classic denim jacket to play down the ensemble. This dress is a fabulous choice for daytime events like a boat party or gathering by the beach for when you want to dress up but keep your look casual and not overdone. Add your favorite oversized sunnies, a large hoop or dangle earring, and a fun raffia-style bag to complete the outfit.

I love to style an all-white outfit, especially in the Spring, because it is a blank canvas with which you can be adventurous. And speaking of art, this JCidel bag, created to be a walking piece of art by its designer Jeannie Cidel, is striking with this white tank and billowing skirt combo. I added a bright orange Gucci sandal with the signature logo detail for a campy, fun feel. Finally, the denim jacket again plays down some of the standout pieces of the look, making it feel approachable, effortless, and stylish.
