Looks For Summer Weddings

What Are We Wearing?

Every Summer, we see a flurry of wedding and black-tie events populate our social calendars and I love styling these occasions. They are particularly fun, because it’s warm enough to be outside and explore various necklines and separates, the trick however, is finding the right pieces to keep you comfortable during the warmer months.

Gold & Shimmer

Gold, rose gold, silver, and shimmers are trending this season and are the perfect recommendation for any formal events, day or night. Gold is a versatile and glamorous choice. It works on all skin tones and hair colors and doesn't take much to make a statement. Rose Gold is newer on the scene but ever so feminine and beautiful. The pink undertones give this hue a softer feel but present elegance, and this tone also looks gorgeous on everyone. A metallic silver piece or accessory is another way to create instant glamour. If metallic shades feel too "loud," opt for a softer shimmer versus the high shine and brightness of a metallic fabric or sandal.

Two-Piece Looks

Veronica Beard is often my first stop when shopping for a two-piece look. Their suiting is made with top-notch quality and fit, and the collections consistently offer a fresh take, whether in a new cut, silhouette, or colorway. This orange tailored suit is a must-have this Summer; wear it to a daytime wedding, formal work event, charity brunch, or social event. Style one of these signature styles with a silk cami underneath or a bodysuit for clean lines. Finish with a platform or stiletto heel in a complementary color versus a bold color; a bold-colored power suit should run the show, and the accessories should sit front row.

Floral Tones & Prints

Florals are beautiful, elegant, and whimsical - especially when done right. Zimmerman always gets a floral print right. I love the prints on their blouses, skirts, and dresses. They have a classic design, so you can get repeat wear out of the pieces and return to them when the right occasion presents itself. If florals aren't your preference, the tones and shades we often see in some of our favorite flowers, like lilac-lavenders, peony pinks, hydrangeas blue, and magenta rose bushes, will do just fine. Look for pieces or dresses that emulate these colors for your wedding or gala event, and style them with a brown, black, or metallic heel to finish the look.
