Memorial Day Weekend Style

What Are We Wearing?

How is it Memorial Day Weekend already?! I am pretty excited and ready to welcome Summer. It's been a busy few months prepping clients for weddings and other events, not to mention wardrobe revamps and shopping consults with all the hot new fashion. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend full of good times, good people, and fabulous looks. Here are a few items to send into the holiday weekend in style.

An Oversized Hat

A hat is no secret discovery for the bright and sunny days of Summer. But a new hat with a sophisticated shape and fit is what we are looking for here. Opt for a packable straw or raffia hat so you can throw it (literally) in your travel bag or carry-on and have it ready to go while you're out and about. The sun protection is a no-brainer; the look is chic and nautical, and it goes with almost everything. You can opt for a white straw sun hat for a formal event like a daytime wedding or a fascinator if you're in the mood to take a high-fashion risk!

Flat Sandals

I like to wear the most stylish flats possible when I have a busy weekend ahead. Running around makes flats the most comfortable option, but made with beautiful leathers in rich colors, and they elevate your footwear so it's a much more formal look than, say, a flip-flop or sneaker.

Versatile Dress

A casual dress that doubles as a swim cover-up is a great piece to have on rotation for all your Memorial Day weekend plans. Whether you're headed to the beach, the pool, lunch, or hanging out with friends, a comfortable dress is easy to wear and looks feminine and stylish. I like to layer a sundress over a swimsuit and finish with a denim jacket if the weather takes a turn. A cotton or linen blend fabric is the most comfortable for warm days, is easy to launder, and travels well.
