3 Trends For 2023
What Are We Wearing?
As we round out the 2022 year of fashion, here are a few unmistakable highlights from the year; Valentino’s viral pink story, celebrity Birkenstock style, and sky-higher-the-better platforms. In this week’s styling series, I am sharing a few new trends to expect to see on your feed in 2023.
Baggy Jeans
This trend is coming in strong from high-end to lower-end designers and brands, so there is a lot to choose from at all price points. The 90s grunge era inspires this look, but we are making it polished and sophisticated. Elevate this vintage silhouette with a buttoned-up collared shirt, tailored blazer, knee-high boots with tucked pant legs, and cropped sweaters. This blazer will add structure to the outfit, boots will add a refined touch, and a cropped sweater or silk blouse will soften the relaxed look.
All Sheer Everything
We are seeing this sexy style pop up on the red carpets already. Sheer mesh and see-through fabrics will be next for dresses, tops, and even skirts. You’ll want to balance these pieces with a more robust, thicker fabric like denim or a knit for daytime looks. As for evening, anything goes. If you want to take a risk or add more edge to your style, check out a cocktail dress and pair it with black sheer stockings to pull the look together.
Ballet Style Flats
Ballet shoes are not for everyone, but the updated ballet flat is definitely trending for 2023. A pink ballet flat looks elegant and soft, but this style is also a lot of fun in a metallic shine like silver. Of course, you can never go wrong with a classic black style. The ballet flat works beautifully with cropped denim, pleated trousers, or a chic mini-skirt; you can wear it year-round.
